Title: Creating A Culture of Success Authors: Charles B. Dygert, Ph.D. and Richard A. Jacobs, P.E. Publisher: Moo Press Books ISBN: 0-9724853-4-1 Genre: Inspirational/Nonfiction/Business Management
Dr. Charles Dygert and Richard Jacobs, P.E. use many true-life success stories based on their concepts on how to transform your organization into a thriving business. The authors share stories like how Gregg Foster took an 85-year-old iron foundry from a $3 million-a-year loss and changed it into a $35 million company.
Dygert and Jacobs define organizational culture and how this culture drives the success of the enterprise. They drive their suggestions home with real-world examples drawn from their vast experiences. The authors also provide tools to assist you in understanding the common barriers to an effective culture.
I found Creating A Culture of Success a bit hard to understand, but then again, I don’t have a degree in business management, so maybe this book is geared more for the professional business student or owner and not for the average Joe.
I do think if you are trying to run a business of any sort, rather it’s a hospital or a store or even a church, the concepts taught in this book would be helpful. If you want to improve the productivity and moral of your company you might want to pick up a copy of Creating A Culture of Success for yourself.
