Title: Constancy's Waltz

Author: Donna Parker

Publisher: Treble Heart Books

ISBN: 1-931-74297-9

Genre: Inspirational/Fiction/Cozy Mystery

Kindergarten teacher, Constancy Grace Stafford, hates her middle name because she is anything but graceful! A klutz to the max, Constancy tries her hardest to avoid making a fool out of herself, but she has learned to laugh when she does, hoping that people will think she is able to laugh at herself.

When a fellow teacher asks her to bring something up from the school supply room, Constancy agrees, seeing as she has to go down to the dark ‘dungeon’ storeroom anyway. When she gets down there, she puts her things away then walks over to get the poster-board the other teacher needed. Before she could reach it though, she trips over something lying in the middle of the floor and lands in a thick puddle of red—paint? Or is it blood? Finding a pair of scissors abandoned in the mess, Constancy picks them up, and follows the cylinder shaped item she tripped over up to it’s source—another kindergarten teacher!

Now Constancy is being accused of the murder. Will she be able to track down the real killer before someone else is killed? Who really killed the teacher and why are they framing Constancy?

Constancy's Waltz starts slow, but by the second chapter things are galloping into action and it doesn’t slow down for the remainder of the book. Written in first person, it only took a second to get into then you don’t even realize what person it’s written in. The book is fast paced, the characters extremely well developed, and the murderer is not easy to guess as several people seem to have motives.

My only disappointment with Constancy's Waltz is that some of the story lines don’t seem to be tied up. I hope that Ms. Parker has a sequel planned for Constancy's Waltz so we can find out how the unresolved story lines play out.

Mystery lovers and romance lovers alike will fall in love with Constancy's Waltz. It’s a book for the keeper shelf.  Also available in e-book or disc form.
