Renn Harper’s Aunt Kate is desperate to sell her drafty old house and move into a smaller, easier to maintain home, but her children are fighting her tooth and nail. Even her late husband seemed to have arranged it so the house couldn’t be sold. But no one counts on Aunt Kate’s ingenious approach to life’s curveballs.

With Renn’s help, Aunt Kate welcomes a Crisis Pregnancy Center into her home. The Center had been bought out by an abortion clinic and needed a new home--fast. Renn helps the director to see that he’s using the wrong approach with the pregnant women when he says his motto is to “Save the babies, no matter what.” Renn helps him to see that they are shooting the wounded, and they needed to reach out to the hurting pregnant women who come to them.

Gordy Mannington is an unlikely gardener. He has a degree in psychology and a background in law. Needing his help and advice, Renn goes to him time and again. Gordy has a wacky sense of humor and keeps Renn laughing.

But things are falling apart. The neighbors and Kate’s children are upset with the opening of the Crisis Pregnancy Center out of their family home. They are prepared to go to any length to stop Aunt Kate from achieving her goals. And then trouble starts happening. The shot out front window is just the beginning of the horrific things that Renn, Aunt Kate, and Gordy experience in their quest for justice. Will Aunt Kate be able to rid herself of her unwanted house? Will Renn be able to find happiness and love? Or are they doomed from the start?

Coming Home to Mercy Street is a zany story any reader could loved. Ms. Williams did a beautiful job bringing her characters to life. The humor in this book had me laughing and helped to hook my interest. I fell in love with Kate and Renn and felt their desperation. Coming Home to Mercy Street is a must for your personal library. I couldn't put it down and hope to see many more books by this talented author.
