Title: A Christmas To Die For Author: Marta Perry Publisher: Love Inspired Suspense ISBN: 978-9-373-44265-2 Genre: Inspirational/Suspense
Rachel Hampton is afraid that history is repeating itself when a car comes speeding around the corner after dark. Just a few months a go, she was a victim of a hit-and-run accident, leaving her with two broken legs and a limp.
Tyler Dunn has come to the Amish community to clear out his grandfather’s house and put it on the market. He also intends to prove that Rachel’s grandfather murdered his grandfather. After all, the two men were sworn enemies.
Rachel knows that her grandfather was incapable of murdering anyone, and while they did have a feud, it was so many years ago it shouldn’t matter anymore. But someone did kill Tyler’s grandfather and now someone is targeting Rachel.
A Christmas To Die For is book two in The Three Sisters Inn series and it easily stands alone. I felt for Rachel trying to run the bed and breakfast with her grandmother, and worry about finances since the inn isn’t booked. I also sympathized with Tyler, coming to town for the difficult job of clearing out a family home and hopefully finding out the truth behind his grandfather’s death.
There were a lot of twists and turns in this story making it impossible to guess who the murderer really is without finishing the book. I thoroughly enjoyed A Christmas To Die For. It’s the perfect suspense for the upcoming holiday season. And the cover is absolutely beautiful. Discussion questions are included at the end of the book. $5.50. 250 pages.
