Returning home for Christmas stirs up two romances from the past
“A Christmas Wish” by Jeanie Smith Cash
When her fiancé dumped her for another, Abby moved away from her small town, hoping distance would soothe her wounded heart. Traveling home for Christmas, she is shocked to be seated next to her ex on the plane. When their plane is grounded by a snowstorm, Abby decides to rent an SUV. She must get home for Christmas. Nick insists on riding with her and begins to woo her back. Is Abby’s tattered heart too raw to forgive him?
“Home For The Holidays” by Christine Lynxwiler
Since they were teenagers, Jeff and Lauren have been best friends. But now Lauren has realized her feelings for Jeff have grown to love. To make matters worse, Jeff asks her help in finding the perfect woman for his mate. When Lauren decides Jeff will never see her as more than a friend, she moves away, hoping to protect her heart. Will Jeff let her go? Or will he realize that she is his perfect match?
Christmas In The Country is a charming set of contemporary romance novellas set during the Christmas season. Jeanie Smith Cash’s debut novella, A “Christmas Wish”, is both suspenseful and heart-tugging, with a noble hero and hurting heroine. My only regret is that readers didn’t get to see the heroine meet the hero’s young son. “Home For The Holidays” by Christine Lynxwiler is the sweet story of best friends discovering love. You will swiftly be pulled into both of these stories with excellent characterization and interesting plots. The faith message fits well with the Christmas season setting. Christmas In The Country is a quick-read and sure to get you in the holiday spirit. (220 pages, $8.85)
