Jeremy Hamilton has finally returned home. He left when he learned that he wasn’t the wealthy newspaper tycoon’s real son. Lost and confused, Jeremy hoped to find a sense of family when he tracked down his biological father’s parents. But soon, he returns home, unwilling to be away from the family he grew up with the holidays.

Gabi Valencia is widowed and trying to make a home for her two pre-teen daughters. Her best friend Dawn, keeps pushing her and Jeremy together, even though Gabi knows that there is no way they could ever have a future together. Still, she’s enjoyed getting to know Jeremy and his family better.

The Gossip Guru is still working over time, and Jeremy, unsure where he fits into the family business anymore) decides to track down the source that is leaking family secrets to get this problem nipped. But it’s harder to stop the rumors than Jeremy expects, especially when what they say is largely based on the truth…especially where Gabi is concerned. He is falling in love…but will a future with two so different people ever be possible?

Christmas Homecoming is the final book in the Davis Landing series, and my favorite. I like Jeremy insecurity and that his family is reaching out with open arms to welcome him home. I also liked Gabi’s sweetness and her willingness to open up and be friends.

The characters are realistically developed, the faith message expertly woven in, and the setting well done. It was nice to revisit with earlier characters in the series, even though Dawn was the only one who played much of a part. Discussion questions are included at the end of the book. $4.99. 248 pages.
