Jackie Scott and her daughter, Diane, are diet experts. Having tried, and failed, at almost every diet under the sun, from low-carb to low-fat, they sat down and attempted to figure out why diets failed them, and finally came up with this simple method, which really isn’t a diet at all. It is all about learning how to eat. Jackie and Diane have proof that this diet works as they have lost over 300 pounds combined and kept the weight off for years.

First, the authors address the common fads and how they work. Then they explain how to count calories and how many calories the average person needs during their day. Calorie Queens also has charts included to show how much you should weigh, but cautions you not to shoot for your dream weight immediately, but to take it slow.

Menu plans and recipes are included in Calorie Queens and some of the recipes sound delicious and I am anxious to try them out. There is also food guide included, which will help you figure calories easier.

I highly recommend Calorie Queens, and this book will be going in my cookbook collection and used regularly. If you are fed up with trendy diets and not keeping the weight off, you should consider Calorie Queens. $12.95. 306 pages.
