Genre: Inspirational/Women/Fiction

Jamie Bryan and her daughter have survived the tragedy of September 11. Jamie volunteered several days a week at St. Paul’s, helping to minister to those trying to move past the horrific events that colored that September day. It was the least she could do—and the place she felt closest to her deceased husband, Jake.

Police officer, Clay Michael, shot and killed a suspect in self-defense, and now he’s on three weeks’ paid leave. When he returns to the force, he’ll be promoted to detective—a promotion he has wanted forever. He and fellow officer Joe Reynolds decide to go to New York City for their required training for the new position.

The first day Clay is in New York, he sees Jamie being accused by three young men—and one has a gun to her back. Clay steps in and saves her life. The attraction between Clay and Jamie is instantaneous, and even though she is seeing someone else, Jamie encourages Clay’s friendship. Then the relationship begins to develop into something more. Will Jamie be able to move past the events that tore her husband from her enough to fall in love again? Or is the relationship doomed to end when Clay returns to California?

Beyond Tuesday Morning is a cute romance. For all those who wanted to know what happened to Jamie after One Tuesday Morning then Beyond Tuesday Morning is a must read. I suggest reading One Tuesday Morning first, as this is definitely a continuation of the story.

In a way, I didn’t like Beyond Tuesday Morning as much. The book didn’t have many exciting moments, though there were some. On the other hand, it was nice catching up with Jamie and Sierra and seeing how they were managing three years later. I felt this story was kind of a let-down, but it didn’t keep me from enjoying the book. There are discussion questions at the end which would make it great for small group studies. $13.99. 318 pages.
