Hoping for release from the overwhelming darkness after the death of her husband and young son, Claire Andrews flees to a secluded cabin in the Cascade Mountains. But even there she is too distracted by her sorrow to pursue her artistic work.

Claire soon achieves a routine as she hides in the mountains. Every day at two o’clock, Claire takes a long walk in the woods. One day, she discovers two mysterious sets of footprints in the snow, an adult’s and a child’s. Imagining they belong to her late husband and son, she tries to follow them, but each time it starts snowing so heavily she has to turn back before she gets lost. Crying out to God for release, she finds a dog scratching at her door in the midst of a blizzard. She soon finds that she is able to start painting again, the dog Michael and the footsteps in the snow inspiring her imagination.

Wanting to release herself from the foolish idea of her husband and son making the prints, she follows the footprints as far she can one day, in spite of a threatening blizzard. They lead to another cabin but the occupants insist they weren’t out walking that day.

Was she imagining the footprints? Were angelic beings directing her path? And how is it that those footprints were inspiring her to heal and paint again?

Beautifully written, this story of love, loss, and healing is unforgettable. Angels In The Snow will lift your spirits and renew your faith in happy endings. This is the first book I’ve ever read by Melody Carlson, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more by this author. Angels In The Snow  is a must for your list of books to read.
