Title: Amazing Love Author: Mae Nunn Publisher: Love Inspired ISBN: 0-373-87350-6 Genre: Inspirational/Romance
Former Miss Texas, Claire Savage, owns her own business, a motorcycle dealership, and is in proud possession of an MBA. She feels in control of her life now, unlike the day when her father abandoned her, leaving her feeling that men couldn’t be trusted.
Luke Dawson is a former rock star, and now he owns his own Christian recording company. When Luke promises to help a fledging teen group hit the big time or he’d work free, Claire is skeptical. What kind of man can make that promise? Obviously, she needs to check Luke’s history out.
When things begin to go wrong, Claire hires a private investigator. What is uncovered is earth-shattering. Can Claire learn to trust Luke when it seems that his past is threatening them both?
Amazing Love is the first book I’ve read by Ms. Nunn and it does have a unique story line. I enjoyed the fact that it is different than the normal romance. There are some jarring point-of-view switches, and Claire seemed a little too perfect. Other than the story being set around a church, I didn’t notice much of a faith message.
Otherwise, Luke is an enjoyable hero, willing to sacrifice his time for animals and misunderstood youth. That alone makes the story worth reading. However, there are more good points than that. The writing is fresh, and the plot different. Pick up Amazing Love and experience it for yourself. $4.99. 249 pages. |
